Writer–Director and founder of London-based production company Loveday Pictures, Lotje Sodderland is a neurodivergent filmmaker and artist exploring vulnerability, isolation and resilience. She transitioned from public policy into film, working across Amsterdam, Paris and London. She co-directed the Emmy-nominated Netflix documentary My Beautiful Broken Brain, executive produced by David Lynch, which screened at Sheffield Doc/Fest, SXSW and IDFA, winning the DOC U Award among others. Her work spans film and participatory, immersive projects grounded in lived experience and scientific inquiry. With support from Arts Council England, she created A World Without Words and the multi-disciplinary Brave New Brain. She wrote and presented Can You Rebuild My Brain? for Channel 4 and directed a documentary on child sex trafficking in India. Her hybrid short Limbo was praised by Ken Loach and led to her debut fiction feature The Raptures, commissioned by Film4 and now in late development with the BFI. She is currently developing the feature documentary Labour & Love, co-developed with Submarine (Amsterdam) and ELDA° Productions (Paris), following a migrant care worker navigating a system of bonded labour in rural England.
